                                    Essential Oil Safety

To get the greatest benefits from essential oils it is very important to use them appropriately. They are very strong plant extracts and extremely toxic if ingested. Do not take internally unless recommended by a qualified aromatherapist or health practitioner.

It is recommended to dilute essential oils in a carrier oil (vegetable oils) before applying to the skin.
A ratio of 1-5% essential oil in a carrier oil or cosmetic base is recommended depending on the oils used and the application. 1ml = approx 25 drops

Keep bottles in a cool dark place and keep out of reach of children.

Some people may have sensitivities to some oils, if irritation occurs wipe the area with vegetable oil. Do not use water as oils are not soluble in water and it can make things worse. If poisoning occurs seek medical advice immediatly.

Some oils are not to be used during pregnancy. Please look into what you can and cannot use if you are pregnant.

Some citrus oils increase photosensetivity in the skin and may cause reactions if worn in the sun, Oils to avoid when in direct sunshine include bergamot, petitgrain, lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit.

Please use essential oils with caution.  Keep out of reach of children and dilute before applying to skin.
