HOW TO USE ESSENTIAL OILS
Bath - Add a few drops (2-5) of essential oil or blend to a full and not too hot bath. Agitiate the water as you add the oils to help them disperse. Wait a few minutes to allow the oils to penetrate before slipping in to relax and cleanse. You can also make up bath oils by diluting essential oils in vegetable oil with 2 - 5 drops essential oil to 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.
Massage - To make your own personalised massage oil simply use 2-5 drops essential oil and blend to 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. The recommended ratio is 3% essential oil in a carrier oil
A ratio of 1% essential oil to carrier is recommended for expecting mothers, children and sensitive skins. Good carrier oils are sweet almond, apricot kernal, safflower, avocado, jojoba or wheatgerm oil. (1ml = approx 25 drops)
Inhalation - Oil burners, vopourisers and diffusers are excellent ways to create a pleasant smell and feeling in a room and also disperses the oils into the air so that they are inhaled and gently absorbed. A few drops on a hankercheif or tissue can also be inhaled to increase the effect as well as steam inhalation. A few drops in a basin of hot water and towel over the head, inhale the steam to help clear the head, sinuses and chest.
